Customer Problem

Onboarding Is a Regulated Workflow

Identity verification is not a form field. In a regulated fintech business it is a controlled workflow that must produce a recorded, reviewable outcome for every applicant — and it frequently arrives as the most fragmented part of the onboarding stack.

Multi-vendor onboarding stacks split document checks, biometrics, address evidence and screening across separate contracts, consoles and invoices. Integration projects multiply, onboarding spend accumulates across separate contracts as volume grows, and the compliance team is left assembling evidence from systems that were never designed to work together.

Legichain consolidates these steps into one automated verification flow, delivered as SaaS and integrated through an API and SDK. Each check returns a single structured response, and the surrounding risk policy stays with the customer — where a regulated business needs it to be.

Verification Scope

Document, Biometric and Address Checks

The verification flow combines document, chip, biometric and address checks in one product. The scope below reflects the current Legichain capability set; the exact document coverage and configuration are confirmed against the customer's onboarding requirements during technical scoping rather than assumed by default.

Document and identity verification

Türkiye and EU identity cards and passports are verified with automated document-data extraction. The supported document set is confirmed for each engagement; no blanket claim is made for every document or country.

NFC chip verification

NFC-enabled identity documents can be verified through chip reading, providing a stronger evidence layer than optical inspection alone.

Selfie and liveness checks

A selfie capture with liveness detection checks that a live person is present during the capture step, before the face comparison is performed.

Face match and age checks

The captured selfie is compared against the document portrait, and age checks support products and services with age-related restrictions.

Address verification

Address evidence is verified within the same flow, so proof-of-address collection does not require an additional vendor or a separate integration.

Fully automated API decision

Every check returns a structured API response without a Legichain-operated manual-review stage, so onboarding capacity does not depend on an external review queue.

Decision Model

Automated Results, Customer-Controlled Policy

Legichain returns the verification result; the accept, reject or review decision remains with the customer. This separation keeps the risk policy inside the regulated business and removes any dependency on a provider-operated review queue.

  • Your policy, applied by your team

The customer applies its own risk policy to the automated result: an internal review team can examine selected cases, request additional documents and generate the final onboarding decision.

  • A deliberate KYB boundary

Full KYB is not part of the product. Company AML screening is delivered separately through AML screening software, and registry, company-document or UBO onboarding is scoped as dedicated engineering where required.

  • Phone and email verification

OTP, email and phone-ownership checks are not native Legichain features. They run on the customer's own stack or a chosen provider, and Grumpio can engineer that integration into the same onboarding journey.

  • Records for audit preparation

Each verification produces a structured result the customer retains within its own onboarding records, supporting internal review, management information and audit preparation.

Commercial Structure

One Credit Pool. Four Check Types.

KYC, AML screening, wallet-risk and address checks draw from a single credit pool under one agreement. Volume can shift between check types as the business changes, without renegotiating separate licences or managing the parallel minimum commitments that multi-vendor onboarding stacks commonly carry.

Data Storage

Storage Configured Around the Jurisdiction

Identity data is among the most sensitive information a fintech business processes. Data storage and deployment architecture can be configured around the customer's operating jurisdiction and institutional requirements; data flows and retention are documented per engagement rather than assumed.

SaaS storage

In the standard delivery model, verification data is held within the managed Legichain SaaS environment and maintained as part of the service.

On-premises and dedicated storage

Where the operating model requires it, verification data can be held in on-premises or dedicated customer storage under the customer's institutional controls.

UK and EU operating structures

Storage, data flows and retention are configured to support the customer's UK or EU operating structure, rather than applying one default residency model to every engagement.

Regulatory Context

Built for UK and EU Onboarding

Customer due diligence obligations differ between the UK and the EU, and between sectors within each market. The verification flow is configured around the customer's obligations, and the controls that surround it are covered by Grumpio's readiness engineering.

Explore regulatory readiness
  • United Kingdom

Onboarding journeys are configured around the Money Laundering Regulations and the wider FCA framework, for cryptoasset firms, e-money institutions and payment businesses alike.

  • European Union

Verification and data-residency choices are adapted to the customer's home Member State and the EU AML framework; cryptoasset firms now onboard within an authorised CASP operating model.

  • Beyond the verification tool

A verification product alone does not complete customer due diligence. The permissions, records and operating controls around the flow are implemented through regulatory-readiness engineering.

Integration

Rapid Integration, SaaS Delivery

The product is designed for rapid technical integration, so verification is embedded within the onboarding journey rather than bolted alongside it. The engineering approach applied across Grumpio-built platforms is described on the technology page.

  • Documented API: verification requests and fully automated decisions are exchanged through a documented API built for predictable integration effort.
  • Capture SDK: document and selfie capture journeys are embedded through the SDK; supported platforms and flows are confirmed during technical scoping.
  • Grumpio platform integration: within crypto exchange software and e-money platform software built by Grumpio, verification is integrated directly into registration and onboarding.
  • SaaS commercial model: credit-based usage with volume and enterprise agreements; current pricing is published on the Legichain website.
